The mean duration of Nolvadex use was 3.3 years, with a median follow-up of 4.2 years. The median overall survival was 21.4 months (95% CI 21.1–24.6 months), and the median time to recurrence was 18.9 months (95% CI 17.4–26.5 months).
Patients’ Demographics
The demographics of the patients included in the study population are summarised in the table. The age of the patients was mainly between 18 to 65 years, and the mean duration of treatment was 2.5 years. There was no significant difference between the two groups regarding the risk of recurrence. The patients in the Nolvadex group had a higher rate of recurrence at time of diagnosis compared to the placebo group (17.1 vs. 13.9; 95% CI 2.2–33.7). The patients in the Nolvadex group had a higher rate of overall survival compared to the placebo group (14.5 vs. 9.3; 95% CI 4.5–24.9; P<0.0001).
